There are various stories as to how St Valentines Day came about starting during the Roman Empire . Gradually over the years February 14 has become the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers.

Now, every February, across the country, cards, balloons, chocolates, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones (or potential loved ones) all in the name of St. Valentine.
